About Andy Hill
From street photography to landscape photography
Anyone who knows me knows that as a youngster I would often be seen with a camera on nights out so I guess I’ve been taking photographs for over 30 years. However it wasn’t until I bought my first Digital SLR camera (a Canon EOS 550D) in 2012, that I begun to take it semi-seriously. As I’m close to London, I started with street photography. Later that year I became inspired by landscape photographers such as Charlie Waite and Joe Cornish. I deseprately wanted to learn how to capture some of the breathtaking views that Charlie and Joe seemed to take.
Portrait photography
I’m a reluctant portrait photographer. I don’t like letting people down, so when my family and friends ask me to take their photos I’m always worried that it’s going to be a disaster. You may see a few snaps here of my nephews that I’m particularly proud of but that’s probably it until I manage to get on a portraiture course.
Wildlife photography
I would love do more of this but I’m not quite ready to spend five grand on a piece of glass. Maybe with the development in micro four third compact system, I’ll finally be able to afford to get a great long lens and capture more of this. I do have some raptures and the like…
Current photography equipment
My current set up includes a Canon 5D Mk III, a Panasonic DMC G7, and an iPhone 6, so most of the shots you’ll see here will be from one of these.
Future updates
I’ll write a blog post every now and then, but frankly my work commitments rarely give me much time to do this any justice so please don’t hold your breathe – you could be waiting some time!
